This is not true. Not at all. When you pay for Netflix, do you now suddenly own Stranger Things as an IP? When you pay for HBO, do you now own The Wire? Game of Thrones? When you pay to watch a movie at the cinema, do you now suddenly get to record it for your people at home? Absolutely not. You pay for ACCESS to their catalogue. You get to watch what they have whenever they offer it in the best available quality, without needing anything more than a decent internet connection. That's a crude simplification, but that's what it is. You didn't buy their OnlyFans: you bought access to view their OnlyFans.
Now, I subscribe to the "If You Don't Possess A Physical Copy Of It That Doesn't Require Any Internet Access To Enjoy It, You Don't Own It" philosophy. Access is not ownership. I GREATLY prefer ownership to access... Which is why I'm here, and on torrenting and other DDL sites. Unless you enter my home, take all my drives and the copies of those drives away (stored in locations not in my home) from me & destroy them, you can never stop me from owning shit. DMCA managers, snitches, takedowns, site owners being sued into oblivion... None of that has any power over LOCAL STORAGE.
