You obviously don’t know what a sample is so ima just let you live.

They didn't remake the song though. They copied the groove in the percussion, but even that wasn't identical. Looking at the sheet music and the arrangement we see it's not just a simple remake.

Admitting to being inspired by Marvin's song bit them in the ass, too

Are you a musician?

This is the bggest bullshit ive read in awhile, pharrel and them didn't even sample the record and they don't sound like much alike and if they are pushing so then majority of the industry would be in legal war....

Lucky come up on the Gaye family but was it well deserved...hell no.

They lost twice...

They were just buying time with the appeal while the refs reviewed the play...

Pharrell can't hide this L inside a Dudley Do Right hat...

The songs do sound similar. It is not a sample though. Sounds like pharrel recreated gaye's sound and put his spin on it. I can see both sides of the argument. Hard to judge that. But the sounds are real similar.

Lol @ saying future should start suing individuals for the jacking of his style. Tpain will be right behind him bout to sue future.

Or just right. Its not a sample they shouldn't of needed to give permission because some drums or keys were the same because if thats the case I would love to hear your take on most songs having the same drum patterns or sounds that been used over the decades. We would be tying a majority of all music together and everybody would be in lawsuits.

I feel like alot of people who agree with this decision do it more out of a dislike of Robin Thicke as opposed to actually understanding what the case and ruling is about. The song isn't a sample...simplu sounding like something else isn't reason enough to sue and this opens up a dangerous precident every time an artists names their inspirations for making music
