Thing is this wasn't the only project he worked on. He was a part of Moonknight and a couple other live action MCU stuff. It's possibly a snowball effect of however he was acting. He pissed off a lot of people.

What a fucking season finale. What a season. Boy, someone was cutting onions when Scott and Jean said their goodbyes to Nathan. Rogue taking it to Bastion in Gambit's honor, "His name was Gambit. Remember it!" So many great moments throughout the episode.

Dont skip the midcredit scene.

Apocalypse is coming!!!!!!!!! Gambit as a Horseman soon come

They unloaded the whole clip this season. My god what a finale!!!

The way they handled Professor and Magneto's relationship was top tier. Had Bastion looking like prime Frieza good lord. The cameos!! I think they know the streets is ready for Avengers vs X-Men, this might have given us a glimpse of what that could look like.

When they said they got yanked outta time at first I thought it was by a Kang variant. I guess they still didnt explain how exactly they found themselves in different timelines. But seeing young Apocalypse could be an easter egg that Rama Tut rules that timeline.
 
That was fucking beautiful! I'm calling it. This is the greatest animated superhero series ever. The cameos! Daredevil, Dr Strange, Cloak & Dagger, Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver! This was simply amazing from start to finish.
