Marvel was Larry Holmes status before 08'

I'm not talking about that era I'm talking about phase every thing from iron man 1 up untill avengers 1 was pre Disney aquisition. Marvel was able to pull off high quality production without Disney's help. All I'm saying is Disney is not going to push the grimy and gore limit with ip like dare devil, punisher etc unless they do a merger with some other film company which I heard they are going to do.
