First episode was interesting
I liked the setup of the movie more though but this is still good

The idea that the girl showed him a will to live and then the kidnappers took it away vs an adult friend doing it. I guess it's just more powerful/emotional in the movie

Watched a couple episodes this morning. I'll finish up this evening. Not bad

Im always a little unsure when a movie or books are turned into a series but i enjoyed this. The action sequences are great and choreographed to a T. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II does a great job as John Creasy he includes a few mannerisms from Denzel Washington but makes the role his own. Some predictable moments and some padding in some episodes other than that a highly entertaining watch.

Watched a few episodes on Saturday. Figured it was gonna be a more similar plot to the film but this is a completely different take.

Has anyone read the books? Was the movie the less accurate take all along? Im confused lol. Im fucking with it tho.

Started off strong but fell off towards the end for me. I liked the darker gritty cinematography in the beginning over the typical action movie set pieces in later episodes.

Plus how a bunch of nobody’s from a Brazilian favela turn into Dom’s crew from Fast & Furious just wasn’t believable. And the whole prison saga was far fetched at every turn.

Knowing a rich benefactor to pull off these crazy expensive operations was just lazy writing. “We need a prison break scene with a helicopter sniper and a bomb squad truck and gear but how do we make it make sense? Mystery rich dude, yeah that will do it.”

Main actor was really good though. They could have used him a lot better.
