OUT NOW Lil Wayne - Tha Carter VI

Added to Calendar: 06-06-25

Wayne's is and has always been very good at the technical aspect of rapping. He can string words together and his charisma makes his punchlines hit harder. Problem is after nearly 30 years you can see with these last albums, and I said this before about Mannie Fresh leaving after Tha Carter 1, the song writing quality dipped and it became more about Wayne just rapping to rap. Now its to the point you can tell there's no longer anybody around to help him structure songs. He sounds like he just gets in the booth and raps and somebody just fills in a random hook

Ive been listening to Wayne since the Hot Boyz days. When he wrote his rhymes down there was more structure. You can literally hear it. Since he stopped writing you can hear it turned more to a stream of thoughts as opposed to 16 bars that connect

Folks who say Wayne always rapped like this STOP...go back and listen to the Carter 1. Shit was structured to perfection, he wasnt all over the place just straight in the zone, and that mfa had some of Waynes best songs on it. Carter 2 is when he shifted to more rapity rap shit and still tho it was fire he went too far deep with it after C3.

Past decade he as fully embraced to this bs he known for now. Lazy and just trying to rhyme a bunch of words like Em but at a horrible level. C5 he kinda balanced it out and imo put out a banger album with that but this shit is just back to the bs he now known for. Like somebody said he should of named this I Am Not A Human Being 3 and nobody would of even cared to say how bad it is.

Carter 1 to me is an amazing hip hop album start to finish and folks forget how good it was because C2 is when the mega rise of Wayne started.

But then again he s another “ flash without fire , another multi platinum rapper trapped and can’t retire”

Tried to tell you yall niggas shouldn't be rapping past 40-45. Keep that shit.

Not sure why it's different for Wayne than it is snoop, LL or the plethora of washed rappers still getting their shit off. Niggas still mad he wanted the superbowl?
Speak for your own set of wack-ass rappers.

Emcees like Nas, Ghost, Busta, Freddie Gibbs are 40+ (some 50+) and still killing.

He really should've stuck to the theme and just made this joint 6 songs.....that's prolly about how many good songs are actually on here

Rolling Stones...who are 250 years old...and other older rock & roll acts still perform. They still put out music. And fans from all ages fucc wit them heavy. Hip hop the only genre that I know of where muthafuccas wanna put an age limit.

Great music is timeless. Regardless how old an artist is. Busta can be in his 60s and I'm still gonna bump his old/new shyt.
