Taylor Swift didn’t sell shit

When you're clearly missing the entire point. ?
I've heard of selective hearing but reading? ?
Taylor Swift didn’t sell shit
Thank you for summing this up as I was attempting to get that same message across. ??If it sold for 100 milli then they can make way more than that off of it.. They can capitalize off streaming, which is continuing to grow.... Sell shares to the public.. have somebody cover a song and then re brand it to a new target audience...put it in movies, films, shows, commercials, etc. They can build a new Chinese Lil Wayne if they want to..and market it to billions over there.
Then you have the death factor.. Not to be morbid but if Wayne passes his music catalog value will soar...even if it's temporary.
ya'll keep saying this lolIf it sold for 100 milli then they can make way more than that off of it.. They can capitalize off streaming, which is continuing to grow.... now that we know Drake and Nicki catalog is included, i bet more of their songs are picked for these things over lil wayne's songs
again, there is a reason he never really crossed over. Not saying thats a bad thing but Nicki and Drake have crossover appeal/songs. The catalog is worth $100M just from their shit alone.
Ya'll really overvaluing wayne's catalog
Maybe using crossover was the wrong word. I'm having trouble articulating my thoughts via text but this only benefits Wayne in the event of his passing because we've seen how streaming numbers go off the charts when someone dies. How many crossover songs does Nicky have tho? Like all of Wayne commercials songs which were popular are crossover songs right. He didn’t go platinum off his mixtape crowd. Don’t all Carter from 2 to 4 count as crossover music I mean it was in the mainstream

Drake catalogue is easily worth more than $100M by itself. Easily. So for that reason it looks like Wayne took a massive L.
Drake his more hit records than Michael Jackson and The Beetles. The longevity in Drake's music is going to be legendary.
Y'all remember that Sprite commercial where Drake was in the studio playing Forever and drinking a Sprite? That commercial debuted in 2010 and that shit still gets run. He's on more features than Wayne. Drake is marketable as fuck.

However, Drake has the machine behind him. What I mean is, those songs might not necessarily have any replay/resale value. It's quite possible that the only reason those songs made it to the top of the charts is because of his management team.
For example, Disco music was really big from around 1975-1980. In that time period everybody was doing disco, even famous jazz artists were doing disco (e.g. Pharaoh Sanders and Idris Muhammad). But now, in 2020 you could probably only name 10-15 disco songs worth listening to. The rest of it is disposable, kinda like New Jack Swing from the late 80s. There's only a handful of New Jack Swing songs that get any play nowadays.
What I'm saying is that Drake, Wayne and Nicki have alot of hits, but that doesn't necessarily mean they have any Replay value. Eminem is another example. He was huge from 1999-2003 but alot of those songs have aged horribly.
Nah. Wayne most likely only owns a share of Drake's & Nikki's catalog.
Probably an even split between Wayne(YoungMoney), Baby/Slim(Cash Money), and Drake

Other than that, idk how you market a bunch of songs with pussy eating references in commercials and shit
Let's pretend everyone here doesn't also think this because I can assure you, you're not the only one who subscribes to thisIt’s only worth how much a person can flip it for.
I keep telling y’all just because one person can make 200 million off something don’t mean another can.
It’s really easy to understand this

If Drake didn't own what was sold...he could say all he want, it wouldn't matter thoExactly and I don’t know the details of any of this music contract shit. But I’m hoping Wayne just sold his portion for the 100 million. Because no way Drake would just let that be. He can make a 100 million too easily.
