At the time my daughter thought saying shit like that was, indeed, homophobic.

Then she learned: What you find is that there are societal norms that tend to keep MOST people in check: i.e. men shouldn't hit women, women shouldn't hit men.

With gay relationships those norms don't exist, so they're more prone to DV because a man puttin' hands on another man is faaaaaar different from the same man puttin' hands on a woman; that's just two niggas scrappin'. Same for two women: that ain't shit but a cat fight.
