Legendary RnB Artists With No Classic Albums?

Answer this Goldie

Why is the thread about legends when the consensus is neither brown or Trey are legends?

Maybe had you asked which rnb artists don't have a classic album, we're not on page 3 still trying to debate the definition of a legend

I dont think any artist can be considered a legend and not have a classic album.

Unless u legendary by association like all of Destiny's children not named Beyonce

Consensus to who? That’s the problem, what makes a small group on a message board the end all be all? Lmao

Especially mainly those out of the demographic?

Ok

How do you want to debate this then

I'm not saying those dudes aren't good artists in their own rights

But I can't say that are legends in the genre

Would you agree that being a legend is based upon greatness?

And greatness is what you’d accomplish within a career?

There are a lot of good to great players in nba history, not all of them are hof caliber

Apply accordingly

Not even all hall of famers are legends. A definition of what a legend is, for the purpose of this thread, would clear up some of the confusion.

Agreed. I’m not necessarily arguing for trey. And I’m glad you mentioned sports.

I hate the way James Harden plays, hate it. But I’d be a fool to look at what he’s accomplished and say he’s not a legend. Just because I don’t like it personally. Now he won’t be higher than some guys who I feel is better but not as accomplished. But he’s in the room of legends whether I like it or not.

Now look at Chris & what he has done and the nigga just hit 30 and say objectively he’s not a legend.

Now I’m not telling y’all where to place him within that. Shit if there’s 372 legends y’all can place him last at number 372 idc. But he’s in the room whether y’all like it or not.

For sure

But I guess the real question is are there real legends of rnb who shouldn't be?

I can't think of any off the top of my head

Modern R&B artists don’t have classic albums. Classic singles yes, but very few all around albums stand out to me in R&B these days. Last full album I was floored by was probably The Weeknd’s Trilogy & really that was a compilation of three mixtapes.

Closest thing I’ve listened to to an RnB album in tha past 20+ years was prolly a Wale album lol...I’ll leave y’all to this 1
