After thinking about this some more, I've settled on the fact that most of these people that are picked to debate aren't looking to engage in actual dialogue that gets everyone just a bit closer to having basic level empathy or compassion for their fellow man

That dude look like he was in it to go viral and looks to have achieved his goal. This was his audition for those right wing shows . He probably was hoping to parlay this into a bag to quit his 9 to 5

I like the premise of the series but it's lost its way imo

The Mehdi one might have been the most egregious one. He was literally "debating" fascists and Nazis. Apparently they cut out racist shit that happened
 
Can anyone think of a debate where someone has left and changed their minds? It's such a redundant thing that the left has been tricked into thinking works
 
I read this book and it's a great read on how these people operate they do these shows to boost their support most times they know they're lying but it's just a play to generate more support
