I always thought Joey was a part of that Kendrick, Cole, Drake level. He came out around the same time as all of them but completely went his own way. He got mainstream success but and was always highly regarded but he seemingly kept himself out of the competition or the world just never included him in it. He's definitely the kendrick/cole of the east coast though. Pro Era was everywhere for awhile
