You're not all the way wrong. And its not bad at all to not jump on a "they're guilty" bandwagon. But there's a conflating that happens that some take that assumes either innocent or "if white people don't get put up for this then why us". And its that last pov that too many find themselves using. They don't take that extra step you did to say "If they're guilty let them get what they deserve." It becomes "Nah *insert random white person here did it so why can't we?" And that's always gonna get deserved push back. Because those people aren't fighting for innocence or fair treatment based on assumed innocence. They're fighting for the right to just do foul shit unchecked. So framing it as an attack and using people who are known to be guilty will always come up looking foul.

There's a way to look at these things from a truly neutral pov. But too many find themselves defending foul shit under the guise of defending Black people. Is it us destroying us or is it people who've done foul shit getting held accountable for it? I also think people need to think about why they want someone to be innocent or guilty. Because 1 thing I've only seen mentioned sparingly on any platform that's discussed this or any other instance is do you want them to be innocent because it means a child or person wasn't harmed? Or do you want them to be found innocent as some sort of get back for "see they get away with it too". Because those are 2 very different motivating factors.

Also withholding judgement and proclaiming innocence or that there's an attack are also different. Yep my guy been in prison since 16. For a false charge of raping a child. He was brutally raped in prison at 18 by grown men. Lost an eye and has HIV from the constant raping he received in prison for being accused of being child rapist.

Then the facts come out 20 something yrs later and the child's mother lies. The state won't release him because of his record in prison and his health is shot as well. Been in prison for 38yrs because of he/she said. His brother dead, mom dead, pops dead and his other brother is a homeless schizophrenic.
