Just watched the video. I can see where Farrakhan is coming from as far as judging character via actions in public versus actions in private (preforming charity versus just praying), and while he criticizes those who he says are inquiring about "true Islam", I don't believe he spells out what that is in the video.

And I don't need him to. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) did that clearly enough for me and nothing Farrakhan could or would say would ever override what the Prophet said before him. Simply put, associating partnership with Allah (SWT) puts one outside the scope and practice of Islam. If Farrakhan or anyone else, inside the Nation or outside of it believes in the divinity of Jesus (PBUH), WF Muhammad or any other human being, that is what they are doing

I have respect for the work the Nation has done, as a group that has helped black people get off drugs, start businesses or even at the very least given black people a positive sense of identity when everything in our society did the opposite. But in theological terms, if they associate partners with Allah (SWT) they are not Muslims.

Farrakhan, and Malcolm for that matter, made it clear the definitions of Muslim (one who submits to the will of Allah) and Christian (follower of the teachings of Jesus). They recognize the political ramifications of the religion's divisions between the two and choose to rise above them to find commonalities.

Obviously, as the citizens of an Abrahamic religion, they recognize the bible and Qur'an both as holy sacred texts.

That's why Farrakhan rightly points out that nowhere in the bible does Jesus say to worship him. And just as Christians shouldn't be worshipping Jesus, the nation of Islam does not worship Wallace Fard Muhammad or Elijah Muhammad. So where is the shirk?

For the top bolded, the Quran clearly demarcates the two groups. One again, this source, the ultimate source, will always hold more weight to me.

As for the bottom bolded, how did Elijah Muhammad describe WF Muhammad? How does Farrakhan? If the answer is "God in the form of man" then there is the shirk. As Muslims, such a belief is contradictory to everything we believe about Allah (SWT) and his nature, in particular that no human being ever has or will have divine stature equal to Allah (SWT) and that God has no human form.
