I legit listened to it front to back 7 times. That's along with watching reactors with better ears than me catch things I didn't hear listening to the whole album.

Not saying I like it more than 4YEO yet but it's close.

I doubt this will be his last but it's a great album to bow out on imo.

I said this on Friday in this thread no way u from NC and don’t collab w 9th Rapsody and Little Brother on ur last album

9th would have given him a classic record

But it’s more likely on some 9th and fronted on him when he was coming up type shit

Nah, nothing is that level of ass and media machine except maybe Saigon and Fred da Godson. Cole got a body of work big enough to coast higher than that comparison.

Album straight to me. Poor Thang and The Let Out doesn't upset me the way it does everyone else lol.

After a few listens, it's a bottom tier album for him. Is it better than the other "Big 3" albums that came out in recent years? Yes but that's all. Won't go too deep in it now but there's a real lack of artistic and rapping growth on this album.
 
Solid project I enjoyed it, its hard to please every listener everyone’s suddenly a “music critic” but will complain when music isn’t put out there and they’re stuck listening to the same old shit (which isn’t always a bad thing).
 
My take on Cole’s career/discography as a whole is that his insistence to do his own beats and hooks and singing held him back and stopped him from having classic albums.

As someone who woulda argued in like 08 or whenever it was that Cole might be the best out of Kendrick, Jay Electronica, KRIT, the albums didn’t really deliver like that.

He wanted to do it all and it gave him a signature sound I guess, but I never want to hear dude sing and his beats mostly suck. He gave his best to Kendrick on HiiPower lol. In his mind he must have thought he’s Kanye with beats and hooks, but he’s not. He’s not even KRIT in that regard. Still one of the best MCs. If he had a real producer calling some shots, he coulda had classics. We love his feature verses not just because he kills them, but because he’s on better beats.

After the singing bs, 39 Intro is the first time I hit rewind on this project. Good beat and he spazzed. 2nd half of that track is what I wanna hear.

Anyway, album is cool. Some of these beats are above average for him. Still a better rapper than he is an album maker. I liked the mixtapes and features more. I hope he stays around as a feature killer because he’s great at that.
