Man what the fuck!! This about to be the best version of IT yet. If that episode was another hour it would already be the best. A lot of classic tricks used by Pennywise in the movies were in this one episode.

This shit about to be wild.

If you watched the upcoming teaser, it looks like at this point the natives and military were both aware of IT’s presence and was actively trying to manage it. I guess all of them got to die or get spooked off for IT to be around 80 years later.

I'm guessing this is a prequel correct? I really hate prequels because I already know how the ending will go but I've heard nothing but good things about ep1

There were a couple DC easter eggs in this episode. The guy who directed the pilot directed The Flash and will direct the Batman movie

Yeah it’s a prequel but it will still be interesting to find out what happens at this point in time. It’s not like most prequels where it’s younger versions of current characters.

The plan is for 3 seasons, with each season going back further to 1935 and 1908.

Don't know if that was Pennywise but the monster can take on any form
That’s true, but usually IT takes on the form of something a child fears. It’s usually very specific to who he’s trying to scare. It’s usually not a general monster for everybody.

Unless back then he was still crafting his Pennywise form and the mutant monster was him prior to leveling up. But then that wouldn’t make sense because they’re not going to not have Pennywise in the prior year seasons.

Idk, but maybe that mutant monster is a form he takes when weak or something.

Yes its a prequel technically.

Pennywise appears in Derry every 27 years. This story happened 27 years prior to the movies story. I doubt any of these characters will connect to the movie. Its just a self contained story of pennywises appearance in Derry.

The showrunner said he plans for this series to have 3 seasons. So season 2 is going to be 27 years earlier than what we are currently watching, season 3 will be what happened 27 years before season 2. Will be cool because they will all be their own unique story in a unique time. Season 3 will be in the late 1880s season 2 will be like 1910ish.

They teased a native American character in the season preview at the end of the episode. Im betting the native Americans will be a big piece of season 3 as the natives and the settlers are probably going to be at war or just recently reached their treaties.

Episode 1 was dope though. Like others have said, i was getting used to these kids being who we follow through the whole season, but they murked damn near everybody that was shown in this episode. Opening scene was creepy af. Thought we'd see pennywise the clown but he took on different forms every appearance and not the usual clown look.

I think Imma skip this one. I've never gotten that deep into Stephen King shit, and I feel like it's all related
