Is There Such Thing As A Rapper That Should Be In Everybody's Top 10?

I think nas gotta be in every purists top ten.

Everyone else you can like or dislike for whatever reason. Whether it's their image, music, region bias, whatever. Gotta have Nasir in their tho

Smh some of y’all take the hip hop thing way too seriously

I want to say yes, but then I think about NBA Top 10 list and how emo everyone gets when I say Kobe ain’t Top 5 (he top 10, tho).

As long as you respect certain artists’ statures, your preference is your preference.

I just had a similar convo but I was saying stop mentioning these solidified Mc's. Mostly everyone has the same dudes in any order in the top 5. So it's no point in even mentioning them.
If nas was in your top 5 10yrs ago he'll be there now. Argue your 6-10.

Look at who ppl still talk about today. Remember them MTV lists from a cpl years ago? Only a handful of those rappers still get mentioned as greats today. You can only promote so much on a mainstream platform... the ppl have the most say in GOAT lists at the end of the day. Does LL's music hold up as much as Wayne's? Has anyone matched the wordplay of Jay in 96? Is Kendrick's 3 album run in the early/mid 2010s as impactful as Cube's in the 90s? The answer to these questions are all subjective, but if you have the knowledge to answer them I'd say you can make a credible list with the usual suspects. I'll say this... more than likely 3 out of 5 on an average list would be 90s rappers.

When making a playlist it doesn't matter not one fucking bit where a rapper ranks to be on that playlist. If the song is a good song it goes on the playlist. Period

Niggas obsession with rankings is stupid. Just listen to the songs you like and chill. Fuck a list.
