I thought Snoop cleared up and set the record straight for all that Dre taking credit for work he didn't do shit.

@Goldie I know shit is subjective but with these could we get some youtube songs posted of what yall feel is said persons best work with these threads? I think it would help especially for a person like me. I'm very familiar with all the names of these threads but don't always remember the work they may have done.

Just a suggestion.

Bet. I'll start adding a few songs from the discog to the OP.

Any other beatmakers yall wanna rank before we start the 2nd round?

So there's not going to be any 80s producers?

Don't you think the 80s decade deserves a separate poll?

Bruh, nobody gives af if u was alive when hip hop was created.

A lot of us weren't alive or was young af when MJ was at his prime, we still consider him the goat. Same with Stevie, same with Marvin, etc.

Them niggas you gas are average af in comparison to the niggas who followed. It has nothing to do with age.

You just proved my point.

You mentioned MJ, Marvin and Stevie.

But how about the generation before them? How about Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Chubby Checker, Fats Domino, Ray Charles?

I was riding in the car with my mother a few weeks ago, she's 77. We were listening to a satellite radio station that was playing music from the 50s and 60s. She knew the words of all the songs and was singing along. A lot of the songs they were playing I had never heard before, and in some cases I had never heard of the artist.

I'm not sure that music get's "better" as it evolves, or if every generation builds on top of the previous generation so it appears that way.

The most groundbreaking Hip Hop came out of the 80s. By the time the 90s rolled around Rap artists had (much) bigger budgets. That's probably the main difference, but song for song and album for album, I'd put the top 10 80s Hip Hop songs and the top 10 Hip Hop albums up against any 10 songs and albums from any other decade.

All the artists I named were from the 80s, same decade you claim we're too young to know about.

The niggas you're hyping are either average or ass.

You don't know what you're talking about. Marvin Gaye had one hit in the 80s (Sexual Healing).

Stevie's best work was in the 70s

Which 80's producer not named Marley Marl should we put up to vote?...

Sylvia Robinson
Larry Smith
Rick Rubin
DJ Mark the 45 King
The Bomb Squad
EPMD
Dr Dre
Herbie Luvbug
Mantronix
Teddy Riley
Hitman Howie Tee

To name a few
