Welcome To aBlackWeb

Is Rewind the greatest storytelling track in hip hop?

Surprised Stan hasn't been mentioned yet

The telly manager was Puerto Rican
Gloria, from Astoria, I went to war with her
Peeps in '91, stole a gun from her workers
And they took drugs, they tried to jerk us
We blaze they place, long story
Glo' seen my face, got shook
Thought a nigga was comin' for the safe

Since it's on, I call my nigga Arizona Ron
From Tucson, push the black Yukon
Usually had the slow grooves on
Mostly rock the Isley
Stupid as a youngin', chose not to move wisely

Niggaz bleed is my favorite of all time.

I just can't get over how he gave so many characters back stories and got right back to the narrative seemlessly
I have said this before but you can make a short film out of Niggas Bleed and not have to change or make up any dialogue.

Same with Somebody’s Gotta Die

I can name so many dope storytelling songs and what it all boils down to is what type of story you wanna hear. Sometimes, the story is told really well but the story itself is kinda…weak.
