Pharrell was the face of The Neptunes, the vocalist and the one who came up with the ideas and melodies in production
Chad Hugo on the other hand is the 'engine' that gave life to their production: he plays saxophone, bass guitar, piano and keyboards... He the engineer and I understand why most folk will say he is the brain behind the Neptunes as a brand
Pharrell ain't no flash though... Personally I think hes top five considering the amount of musicians he's worked with.... Numerous to mention
