And you gonna sit there and act like it's just black people praising this film? EVERYBODY is talking about how epic and unique this thing is.

You highlighted the fact that it's a comic book movie.

Nothing changes the fact that this is still a comic book movie.

Imagery and messages aside.... When you list genre it's under comic book movies.....

It ain't like it's a biopic. It's not based on a true story. It's not a documentary. It's about comic book characters.

It's gonna be action, fighting, flipping, stuff blowing up and costumes....

This is what it is. How am I wrong for telling a 66 year old woman that black panther was based on a comic book??

"Comic book" is not a genre of film.

Action
Romance
Comedy
Horror
Religious
Autobiographical
Science fiction
Etc

Those are genres. Where a film gets its content or inspiration from does not dictate its genre. Like 50 Shades of Gray is essentially a romance film based on a romance novel. But if you took that story and put it in a high tech futuristic world with big action set pieces, it would no longer be classified as a strictly romance film.

Logan was a Western.
Ant Man was a heist film.
Guardians of the Galaxy was a sci-fi.
Winter Soldier was a political thriller.
The Dark Knight was a psychological detective thriller.

You simply cannot throw all of those films into the same bucket when they're so radically different.
