The irony to me is that this thread starts on 9/11. I remember when the towers fell, I saw a clip on the news of people celebrating in the middle east. Years later our political leaders (and I'm sure many citizens) celebrated when Osama Bin Laden was killed. Hell, there was a seal team movie depicting it. Even I felt a sense of "relief" (even though I have theories on why the towers really fell, but that's for another day). Morally, yes it's wrong to celebrate a death regardless of the reason, but it happens nonetheless. Reflection on how things got to that point, and how to be better going forward should be the reaction. There's also nothing wrong with analysis of the man or what he was known for. Silence after a death of any kind is just not realistic. Someone's gonna have something to say, good or bad.
Now me, I'll be honest. Before yesterday I'd never even heard of Charlie Kirk. Seriously, I thought I watched enough news to be aware of a lot but had no idea who he was. I looked him up, read about what he's said, some of which I read here too. A lot of what he said was divisive and stirred the pot. So it's totally possible this was the work of someone he angered, and its possible that many are, if not celebrating, simply moving on with their day on some "oh well" type energy. Me? "What you put out in the world..."
But my mind goes straight to conspiracy theories too. Is there an election coming up? Is there a matter to be voted on in the Senate or House? Did someone need to tip the scales to sway the mood and influence a vote for something? The timing is always in question. I know this thread isn't about theories, but this could also be the work of an agent provacateur, someone in his own constituency meant to further divide us. Look at how immediately Republicans are pointing fingers at Democrats, HBCU's I read were on lockdown at one point. Look at the immediate actions following his death. it speaks loudly to me.
