ICE Protest/Riot Thread

That was one of the ACLU's biggest complaints: There was no due process for 3 out of 4 deportations.

Under the Obama administration (2009–2017), approximately 3 million individuals were formally removed from the United States, with an additional 2 million leaving through voluntary returns, totaling over 5 million departures. Of these formal removals, estimates suggest that 75% to 83% were nonjudicial, meaning they occurred without a hearing before an immigration judge, bypassing traditional due process. These nonjudicial removals, which include expedited removals and reinstatements of prior removal orders, peaked in FY 2012 at 313,000, representing about 75% of deportations that year. On average, across the eight years, roughly 74% of formal removals (approximately 2.22 million) were conducted without judicial oversight, primarily through processes controlled by the Department of Homeland Security, often involving a single immigration officer. These figures come from data reported by the Migration Policy Institute, the ACLU, and the Department of Homeland Security, though exact numbers vary year to year.

Did Obama have an Alligator Alcatraz?

Did Obama raid the streets of LA with ICE, National Guard, and Marines?

Did Obama detain US citizens unjustly just because they were Latino?

Did Obama send people to a prison in El Salvador?

Did Obama get the Supreme Court to allow deportation to 3rd party countries?

Did Obama push for repeal of birthright citizenship?

Stop with this both sides bullshit. There was obviously a defined process even if it was expedited. Could it have been viewed as unfair at the time? Maybe. But it’s not nearly the level of bullshit Trump is on.

And that’s the problem with both siding every fucking thing. You give cover to much more egregious bullshit.

Condemn Obama’s moves all you want, but don’t bring them up in contrast to what Trump is doing.

Cut the bullshit. Infamous posted the difference was trump deporting ppl with no due process. That was objectively false and u cosigned it.

In your own post it said there was a process.

“primarily through processes controlled by the Department of Homeland Security, often involving a single immigration officer.”

Was it the traditional process? No. But there was still a process. And I’m not defending what Obama did at all. I’m just saying, don’t be pulling this shit out your ass to both sides shit when there is no comparison to the tactics used by each administration.

The goal post moves y'all do is insane. By your logic, since Trump is using the same process, it's fine.

Nobody justifying what Obama did. We just see that there’s no comparison to what Trump is doing. And when you constantly want to bring up cases from the other side that were less severe it comes off as defending the worst of the worst.

It’s like seeing a petty thief stealing from WalMart and comparing them to another petty thief that also sexually abused children. Yes they are both petty thieves, but one of them is a lot fucking worse.

Did Obama have an Alligator Alcatraz?
No, but he did put children in cages.

Did Obama raid the streets of LA with ICE, National Guard, and Marines?
ICE, yes. And he was rounding up entire families -IN LA-. No need for the National Guard or Marines 'cause nobody gave a shit enough to protest it.

Did Obama detain US citizens unjustly just because they were Latino?
Absolutely

Did Obama send people to a prison in El Salvador?
Didn't have to, he was shipping them right back to where they came from.

Did Obama get the Supreme Court to allow deportation to 3rd party countries?
See above, that wasn't necessary.

Did Obama push for repeal of birthright citizenship?
Nope.

It wasn't just "expedited" it was WITHOUT DUE PROCESS.
Whole families bounced on up outta here without a day in court.
The very same shit muhfuckas complaining about with Trump is the very shit Obama did without a fuckin whisper from anyone.

And that’s the problem with both siding every fucking thing. You give cover to much more egregious bullshit.

Dawg, Obama deported more people than every president for the previous 100 years combined. How much more egregious do you want to get???
