I disagree strongly with this statement you see A good debate is so much better when there is genuine interest and passion involved, my topic was about Washington D.C. becoming the 51st state of the U.S.A and as an English man I simply couldn't give a shit, the topic was not for me so I lost interest and lost the debate, if the topic was something I had some interest in and knowledge of I would be a BIG problem within the debating society for sure.
