I loved this film. The last 20-30 min of this film is wild lol and it might take you out of the film. One of the most anti-capitalist films I've seen in recent memory. You know what you're gonna get with Boots Riley and he does not disappoint. This is rich in satire. Shout out to Keke, Naomi and Taylour. Production design on point, costume design on point

I have to be in the right mood to watch a movie like this, accepting every quirky thing that happens for the most part. This movie about a crew of professional shoplifters as they target a cutthroat fashion mogul made me smile often as it pokes fun at racial stereotypes and how absurd and futile the whole boosting thing has become. With security cameras everywhere and cops sitting right outside of a department or high end store a person might as well do without. The movie doesn't dwell on that fact and inserts messages about the working man, but even when the movie turns towards a highly unexpected path I was still entertained by the characters and the visuals. High praise to the cast who enthusiastically take on their roles including: Keke Palmer as Corvette, Naomi Ackie as Sade, Taylour Paige as Mariah and Demi Moore as Christie Smith. It was nice to see Kerris Dorsey who i haven't seen since Ray Donovan ended. Even though theres a been there done that vibe I've seen this characters mindset in dozens of sitcoms when it comes to Christie I think her feelings captured how any designer, manufacturer or company feels when they see their products get consistently boosted. There's a situation that i wished had remained just an analogy. As the film reaches its last 20 minutes it starts to feel overdone as if Director and writer Boots Riley is saying: Well they gave me a big budget might as well use every dollar even though its unnecessary.

Scale of 1 to 10 a 7½
