OPINION How yall feel about AAU basketball and recruiting?

Yall think this is a good thing for the sport? Ranking kids before they even get to highschool and stuff like that
 
its been going on for year

now if you wanna talk about the antics that surround the children and the pressures put on them by coaches and parents, then i think thats what we need to talk about
 
I played AAU as a kid an coached as an adult. The whole system is corrupt, sponsers give certain players money, coaches stealing players off teams, old ass kids sneaking on teams playing against teams 4 years younger than them. It’s a terrible system but it’s the only one currently, and a lot of kids that wouldn’t have gotten scholarships earn them if they ball out in those tournaments.
 
I was just thinking of making a thread like this.

Shit is crazy.

But it's in all sports.

It messes things up for kids who just want to play and have fun.

When I go to the DR...it's filled with white dudes scouting young dominicans guys.

They give these people like $400 a month to have access to kids.

They lock them into long term contracts to either develop them or stop someone else from getting them.

It's crazy how many baseball diamonds are there.
 
If you playing AAU basketball, you ain’t doing it for fun.

That shit is serious for everyone, players and coaches.

The time and money you have to invest is beyond just fun though.
