COMMUNITY How would you run your own country?

Since the election thread is popping and the consensus is the USA could be much better. I figure I ask what type of country would you run ideally? How would you want you economical structure to be ? Capitalist system or Socialism or a combination of both? Crime and punishment? Education? Culture?


Personally I’d like a country with a very big social net like free healthcare maternity and paternity leave up to a year, I think community college should be free, don’t like the idea of student debt lasting for 20 years after college, and bunch of other things.

But to bring this back to the original topic.

Cant say I have all the answers off the rip but I would for sure like my country to give teachers/educators the respect and PAY they deserve. They help shape/mold the youth and future of the country so the resources to ensure that future is bright should be set aside. Getting a college degree wouldn't put you in massive debt either. I think that would be one of my top priorities if not number 1.

Healthcare for all. Insurance and drug companies found trying to take advantage of the people would be heavily penalized.

Weed would also be legal lol.

Election days would be national holidays as well to promote civic engagement. Political ads would run for free on television stations within reason/guidelines so candidates won't be so pressed on raising money as opposed to actually engaging the people.
