I don't really think it's a double standard. A lot of the popular female MCs aren't really respected as rappers. The ones that are get held to the same standard. I remember they were talking about Lauryn Hill not writing her rhymes on the Math Hoffa show. If that's actually true, I would lose respect for just like I would for a male MC.

If all you rapping about is how much dick you suck, it doesn't really matter who writes it.
