The powers that be and some people don't want the police held accountable. That is the reason. I mean all saw how the cops stopped doing their jobs because they couldn't break the law themselves while doing it.

This country consistently lies to the public about who people are just because they hold a certain title. The police are part of that group. If the majority of society stops believing that lie then the control the gov't holds over most of society lost and that creates a lot more chaos. If allowing the police to turn off cameras helps them maintain that control then they will keep doing it.

They are willing to sacrifice the cops that commit the most fucked up crimes. The rest that commit crimes they have to let slide to maintain that fake as view of law & order and protect & serve.
