Get used to longer albums in music...

The streaming system is robbing these niggas and yall mfs think it's cheating FOR the artists lol

So eventhough everything is digital and nobody buys physical albums anymore, half the time the shit gets bootlegged online, but nah, let's not credit artists with streams cuz it's not a real sell? smh aight

thats not what im saying

im not trying to take anything away from the artist, however, there is something for all these "record breaking" stats that have been coming out over the past couple of years...

why should you get credit for the sale of a bullshit album when only one song jams?

Remember "all gold everything"? Trinidad James said he didnt even make that to be a single but THAT'S THE SONG everybody was gravitating towards. Who else remembers any other songs off that project? Should he be given credit for going gold, platinum off one single?

Ion completely understand how streaming number work.

Do they count only from subscribed members who purchase the songs and stream it? Or do youtube numbers count too?

And i use google play so i know even after i purchase something, you have the option to download it or continue to "stream" it. And if im using the latter methods, is it counted as an individual play for the artist every time i play that song?

I ain't 100% on it but I believe any streaming service counts, Even Youtube.

Only when you download and "own" it does in not count.

quality over quantity.

I mean who needs an album with 57 tracks? especially Chris Brown. I think a Motown compilation might be the only album that could have 57 tracks and actually be good.

You're stating the obvious. Ofc if it has wack songs on it it's gonna be wack. A 7 song album with 4 wack tracks is wack. But if the album has 18 songs on it and 17 are fire why tf are yall crying?

Doesn't sound like you've done any research to what you're talking about. Most of these "records" are about singles. If you look at "album sales", today's artists aren't selling any where near what the artists from the 90s and before were selling. So your argument makes no sense.

In the grand scheme of things... I don’t care. Everyone who’s in the know realizes who has the talent to carry 20 plus track albums and who don’t. As far as sales, it’s been like this for quite some time now. No news to me.
