That actually doesn't surprise me. I'm sure there's far worse out there. My wife teaches at a high school, and she says half those kids don't know how to write an essay. You tell them to write one and they'll bring you something looking like a long social media post.
I think growing up without texting and social media shaped the way the older generations write. Kids coming up now are still taught the "right way", but because they spend so much time on social media they adapt their writing skill to that environment, which means all grammar and the like are thrown out the window.
It's only a matter of time before AI gets implemented into Word and other word processors so they can turn people's gobbledygook into actual writing.
That's what Grammarly is. Also, Word has a feature where it checks you in real time if it thinks you're using a word improperly or it's context is wrong. I haven't figured out how to turn that shit off yet, mainly 'cause I don't use it that often. The web version of Outlook does the same shit.
