I would say people consume celebrity culture differently now. People went from fainting at possible sight of the Beatles & MJ to actually being obsessed that their private life isn't perfect.
Only Sachin Tendulkar can relate to this issue now
Even as a kid I couldn't comprehend why people would faint just seeing him. Not even just chicks either. You'd have grown ass men falling out at the very sight of MJ. That's shit boggles the mind.
