They def don't make them shits like this anymore. In 2002, I gave my wife a LaserJet 4L for her mortgage business that I got from a branch office the company I worked for at the time had closed. That shit was built sometime in the early 90's and kept going long after she finally got out of the business in '07. I think it finally died in 2010, but could have been repaired with new rollers or some shit.
