I would like to start a series where we can discuss certain topics within a specific thread just so we wont be all over the place while discussing.

We have alot of problems we just dont seem to want to talk about or admit to, so how can we fix them?

what are some of the topics you would like talked about?

we are here for solutions but also looking in the mirror to see how we contribute to either the problem or solution.

We can keep feelings out of this...and talk like grown men and women.

Here are the topics. feel free to add.

Financial literacy
Parenting
Mens role
Womens role
education
asset ownership
family structure
Business ownership
Hating
self love
Uncle toms
Classism
Colorism
Goals
Political influence
Travel
Networking

mane smh

to prove your point and the need for this, I read that list and got tired af just now

those are heavy topics that have to discussed on a mature, unbiased level....which is just rare on the internet

makes shit very tiring

anyway, came in thinking of business ownership, networking, and trust issues, which are all there in some form

Fnancial literacy is a must, we have to break the cycle of not knowing about simple banking. Break the cycle of renting compared to owning. Buying property imstead of rims and blowobl money on cars before you own a house.

The first 5 is connected to all Americans not just black.

But ain’t black women the highest rated groups of race/gender that is going to college?

For the last 10 years of my life I have seen a great increase in all the things we should be doing

I see keep on doing what we doing and we gon be even better in another 10 years.

You forgot MUSIC.

So y'all just gon' ignore these so-called musicians and their modern day minstrel shows?

Internet beefs between (example) " Lil Gangsta" and " Young Pimp Daddy" on YOUTUBE everyday?

Knuckleheads glorifying drug use and acting like it's cool to be a junkie?

Ex-strippers and candy -ass sissies with rainbow hair claiming to be active gang members?

Ignorant, spoiled, rude little white bitch appears on Dr. Phil and is rewarded with a record deal and is now a "rapper"?

Cool.

we gonna focus on us.

Im not worried about others.

and while i get what you trying to say....we are no where near where we should or could be in any of it.

Black love in the media I think is something that can be discussed as well.

I been to a lot of places.

I see the progress that was made and can’t help but to continue keeping up the positive attitude.

If blacks don’t know the things in the OP now those certain ppl are just lost and can’t be helped.

this is where i disagree....
just because a few know dont mean the others are lost.

keeping a positive attitude is good but in that same attitude it seems like you looking down on those whose circumstances didnt allow them to get to the information YET.

we need more mentors and more willing to teach.

so, you been a few places.....so have i ...and i see we are damn near in last place. damn near everywhere.

and while the black women are the most college educated....that does not transfer into being a good wife or woman.

My wife and I have been talking about this more ever since that show "To Rome for Love" appeared. The both of us know more Black women with degrees and careers, but damned near all of them are perpetually single. They might get into relationships here and there, but nothing ever pans out long term for 'em and they're all in their late 30's through their 40's.

I see where you're going......but after the music comment, none of that is black problems......just greedy media exploiting kids and sleeping parents

black kids aint watching them youtube vids, giving record deals to clowns, or cooking up fake beefs.....thats the industry's response to our attempt to box them out by creating our own record labels and such

all we can do is stop supporting bullshit on an individual level.....you'll never get a whole race or group of people to not like something at once, thats just not being realistic

Is music a problem?

It is the most influential thing outside of parents to me.

And y’all like to say black culture is the most copied thing in the world and the culture is spread through the music.

So is music a problem?
