Growing up it's either you were a Brazil fan or an argentine one. With a little Germany and Italy sprinkled in there. African teams got support no matter what.
It could be because of the love of those countries respective icons, the football, or the people (in Brazil's case).
I do know a good amount of cats that went with argentina simple because everyone else followed Brazil and they hated that shit. Up to today they are still celebrating Brazil being out.
The fandom is serious back home.
