If worse than this has been called a red then my point stands. I get trying to keep players safe, but this diminishes the competitiveness of the game.

I could even see an ejection, but playing down one and expulsion from the next game is crazy. Who wants to win or lose like that over some shit that was part of the normal course of the game.
