According to reports, a fight over Thanksgiving leftovers turned deadly after a Chicago man allegedly stabbed another man who confronted him for digging into the food with his bare hands.
29-year-old James Dixon was arrested and is now facing first-degree murder charges for the fatal stabbing of 52-year-old Vincell Jackson. Prosecutors say Jackson escorted Dixon to the door of a home in Marquette Park, and was punched by Dixon before the fight moved to the front porch of the residence. From there, Dixon allegedly stabbed Jackson nine times, causing wounds on his face and head. There were witnesses to the altercation, but not to the stabbing, according to reports. Jackson would go on to pass away later on from stab wounds, which led to his death being classified as a homicide.
Dixon was arrested and taken into custody while at the Holy Cross Hospital after being treated for finger and neck cuts. The suspect reportedly had multiple knives on him, including a bloody knife. Dixon is currently being held on $350,000 bail. He is facing up to 60 years in prison.
