Fat Joe Calls Out FBAs and Tariq Nasheed

They didn't get to keep those customs brah

They were indoctrinated with the Christian faith

They learned to read and write English thus not retaining any of the customs that were native to them.

Wash, rinse and repeat this for 400 years and you have African Americans and not the tribes that originally came

1619 - 1865 is not 400 years breh What dates are you using?

Also, a slave couldn't read nor write. A slave would be killed or given 100 lashes if caught doing any of these things.

Christianity been in Africa for many years before the slave trade breh

Slave trade in general is 400 years not just US.

There was no such name as "African Americans" in the late 1600s
I'm asking you why the Africans from these tribes that were brought here to the US, from 1619 - 1865, don't outnumber "Black Americans"

I'm not sure why you don't understand this simple logic.

You have a land with no black people here, Africans wore brought over to the new land to be slaves. These Africans were from different groups 100s or more that came to the US to be slaves. This is what your textbook/school taught you. This narrative. I'm just asking questions to make it make sense.

These "Africans" reproduced, creating more Africans from their linage/group. Why these Africans from these groups here in the US, are not heavy in population?

There are more FBAs here in the US than the different groups you've named. Why is this the case? That's the question

Again the Africans from those groups became us. Knock your great great great great great great great grandma might have been Igbo. That does not mean you are. You making it seem like African slaves are different group than our ancestors.

Ok

This probably my last response cause this is beyond tiring

I'm not about to tell you 235 years and 32 days. You don't get no points for trying to guess the exact number of jelly beans in the jar. For the sake of conversation, you know what I mean or at least what I'm referring to

Slaves over time were taught how to read and write. You know this

Christianity may have existed in Africa but not all the tribes practiced it. You know this

You keep trying to talk in absolutes which is why the entire subject is tiring

So again, if you teach 3 people how to read and they teach 3 people a piece how to read... You see how eventually more and more people learn how to read?

The Ethiopian Orthodox Church is not the same as the Protestant and Catholic Churches that were involved in the trans Atlantic slave trade. You forget they forcefully converted slaves?

We all come from Africa, as I stated to another poster.

No, what I'm trying to imply as the tweet stated, that there were black people over here already.

A Jamaican, European, Chinese, and others great, great, great, 22 generational of folks may have been part of a tribe too...True or False?

Slaves were not taught. A slave could not read nor write. Majority of the slaves did not read nor write. You don't educate property or 3/5ths of a human.

The Bible existed before slavery, they all used the same bible, Jesus was in the bible. The bible was written in Bylos or Bylos, that's how it got its name, Bible from where it was 1st written, over there in Africa, Africans had many different religion systems. Some followed Christianity some didn't.

The Pope, Catholic, was the one who stated that black people/Africans didn't have any souls and green lite the slave trade. This had nothing to do with Christianity teachings or whatever you all are trying to imply

Bruh he is saying what we all know and you take every word so literal we know majority of slaves couldn’t read or write but it’s documented that some could. You forget they used slaves for more than just fields and sex. Some of us were used as exhibitions to make white folks feel important. Some bragged in how well they treated the slaves just to stunt.

Nat Turner knew how to read and they took him out cuz he read the Bible and had a different interpretation

We not trying to imply anything I’m saying that the church in the americas today which is the one used in slavery is not the same as the Ethiopian one. I mean Jesus is still the center though.

I personally don’t think it was black eople here already. I really think this was all native land. I can see some Africans maybe trying to sail from there to parts of South America but as far as permanent settlement before the slave trade idk.

No he is not saying what we all know, that's why I had to remind him of that. He's making it seem like "slaves were taught to read and write" from 1619 - 1865 and that was not the case. History does not teach us this

You don't teach property to read nor write. He's makin it seem like a slave learned the English language and became a scholar and once they learned it they taught other slaves and they learned the language and that's how they forgot their history and it was like that for many years.

You keep customs dude. Just like the black Africans people that they dropped off in South America kept their customs. But it's only only FBAs for some reason the ones who lost their customs, everybody else shockingly "tribes" outside of the US keep their customs through slavery

Ethnic groups don’t stay the same for centuries.

There are stones in the ground and statues that say black people were here and setup shop.

Africans did come here and setup shop long before the 'pale' Indians. That's how the Spanish were able to come over here, using those Moor maps after they conquered them in 1492 in Spain

Christopher Columbus used ships made by a Moor to sail over here, he also had Moor/black folks on board to help him guide him to the Americas.

The black folks on his ships were translators for him

First of all this is false. African diaspora in South America and the Caribbean have a stronger African influence because more Africans were brought there but they didn’t keep everything like you think. It’s a slew of Black Dominicans who don’t ID with anything African.

It’s a lot of black folks in the diaspora that view traditional African religions as Satanic. Yes some Cubans may practice some Yoruba faith and some Black Americans do root work but it’s kinda morphed from the true African spirituality.

Also slaves were forced to learn the language and custom of their masters. That why we speak English and Jamaicans speak English with an accent because they were under the English directly. Haitians speak French etc
