Besides, only the insecure shady people got offended. Rue didn't mind, Maddy didn't mind, the mom didn't mind being portrayed as a drunk. Fez had an abusive father, so he ended up with his grandma in the drug game
Lexi and Cassie's father was a fiend and dipped on them
Rue's father died
Nate has a negative father figure

Oh and also how addiction effects you and those around you since Sam Levinson was an addict himself
