She was just supporting her daughter telling her story from her POV. What's the difference between this and her or someone making a movie about her life anyways? Besides, only the insecure shady people got offended. Rue didn't mind, Maddy didn't mind, the mom didn't mind being portrayed as a drunk. Like Fez said, sometimes people need to get they feelings hurt.
