That’s a dumb premise to begin with for the way twitter is constructed. Stopping people from viewing tweets without logging in undoubtedly affects the ability to post tweets on news articles and other sites like this. That in turn impacts visibility which in turn impacts ad revenue.
I’m also assuming this is why tweets haven’t been automatically displaying in text messages for the last month or so (it’s been off and on).
