Naw, that is a good camera. But it is for those that want to get into photography . Or you are at least willing to learn what some of the modes can do.

Bought my daughter a nice ass camera because she loves to take pictures so I was trying to encourage that affinity and maybe that's something one day she'd make a career of who knows, just for it to still be sitting in it's box unopened a year later. Pissed AF. And my gf is all like we shouldn't take gifts away. It was a gift. FUCK THAT!

We did this for my middle daughter for her 16th birthday. Shit just sat unused for the longest. One day a few years later I asked her about it and she said "oh, I sold it for blah, blah, blahblahblah, blah, blah..." that's what she said.

Talk about pissed.

We did the same for our oldest, but even though she doesn't use it, she still has it. She even took a photography class with it despite it being a bridge camera instead of a full blown DSLR.

My sister and I are rubbing our nickles together to get a camera for her son. They came by the crib and when my nephew saw my camera he launched towards it, pulled it out and started checking it out. Then he turned his attention to my bridge cameras sitting on my desk and wouldn't stop fucking with 'em until they left. He's been using a camera borrowed from his school to take pics of school event and whatnot so I think this time it'll actually be used.
