This happened last Saturday. So I'm booking a trip to cancun. This is a spur of the moment solo trip. I may have thought of doing this last month but didn't start doing research until like week ago.
So I decided to take a edible around noon Saturday. As I'm high, I decided to do my booking. I had saved several vacation packages on one site. I finally chose one. Put my cars info in and then told that trip option is no longer available. So I remove a day from the trip and put in the exact stuff in. It goes through but then I receive another message. It was confusing so I'm thinking it didn't go through.
I check my bank account and see no pending charges. So I use another vendor's site. Do the same booking. It goes through. Maybe 2 mins later, I receive an email from the first site saying the trip is confirmed. Now I'm worried cause I didn't think the first one went through.
So I check my account again. One thing I realized is that I was using my credit card to make the purchase. So when I checked my account the first time, I was looking at my checking account and not my credit card account. I looked at my credit card account and I see 2 pending charges. Each close to $2000.
SMH. I had to call to see if I could cancel. I had chosen a special deal that doesn't allow refunds for that flight and hotel. They were able to cancel since it happened with in 24hrs
