Drama in Bristol: Is Rachel Nichols racist?

Again, Rachel has been doing it longer than her. Maria does do a good job but I think Rachel does it better

🤷🏾‍♂️

Was going to say just this. Taylor does a fine job, but Rachel is just a little better.

And let's not act like, faced with two talented women, one white and one black (and more attractive IMO -- yes, let's not act now like that doesn't matter), an organization like ESPN wouldn't in 2021 promote the black one over the white one.

Please educate me on what makes Rachel such a great analyst.

I legit am curious

This just the time she was caught. Everything else before and after will be questioned

Maybe all the NBA players she's allegedly been with will come forward to support her.

I mean, if enough of them come forward..........that would definitely prove she's not racist.

Right?

Rachel Nichols has done a great job with interviews, content, and creating and cultivating the jump the past few years

she deserves whatever she asks for at ESPN

Her comments were unprofessional as she felt threatened and probably unappreciated but I don’t think she’s racist

I can see her knowing the inner workings of ESPN and that’s what led her to say what she said

At the same time Maria Taylor deserves praise for the work she does. She’s less visible to me as idc for NBA countdown as it’s garbage imo and I don’t watch college ball. I’m sure she deserves whatever ESPN was trying to do with her even if there’s a possibility they were fast tracking her due to her being black as she has worked hard.

smash on Rachel Nichols, smash on Maria taylor

shoutout to Kayla Johnson

I dont think it was ever a question about it Rachel should have been offended.

She had a right to be offended. And she should have been offended.

The problem is, why does rachel think she deserves the finals job based off her merits, but race is the only reason maria got it? Thats the problem.

If rachel would have said fuck that bitch, i deserve the role, i might have even agreed.

The issue is her automatically thinking that she deserved the job cause of her merit, but being black is the only reason maria got it.

niggas lose me when you get to talking about what another MF thats not you thinking

she said exactly what she meant, no need for extra sauce

she said the bitch didn’t outwork her so she don’t deserve her contracted spot

and then when we know thats exactly what it was...why...

bitching just to bitch but is Maria going pick up the slack for a Rachel ? Who goingtake over pushing for nba programming like she has, who got the relationships?

if this was Rod Gold or Taylor, maybe niggas have argument...this shit just show why even niggas tired of niggas

The comments were unprofessional and
salty so Rachel deserves to be embarrassed.
However, the comments were not spoken in a vacuum so it’s hard for me to go full outrage like some are.

Wasn’t this regarding last years finals that occurred in the midst of all the protests and near every major corporation latching onto the BLM cause?

I don’t question Taylor’s merits but I also don’t believe ESPN gave her the role, at that specific time, based on merit.

Although such statements definitely conjure bad history for black women in the workplace; I cannot feign as if it wasn’t a thing at the time.

I liken it to how many of us in the black community felt about the way shit was shaking with the bill passing during the “Stop Asian Hate” movement. Yes, I understand and support your cause but we’ve / I’ve been putting in the ground work. Why do you get to cut the line?

But she’s a white woman in America so she can ultimately cry me a river.
