OUT NOW Drake & PARTYNEXTDOOR - $ome $exy $ongs 4 U

Added to Calendar: 02-14-25

you need more than 2 days determine if a song has replay value????

Ugh... the fuck yea

some albums don't sound as good when you hear them the first couple of times, then the more you listen to em, the better they sound and vice versa

what are we talking about right now?

You mean to tell me you've never experienced listening to an album you thought was so nice at first then a few months to a year or more later, you find yourself not enjoying the album like that?

No b/c he already knew which songs he would be skipping on GNX within 24 hours of release.

This album is pretty dope, ngl... Maybe 3 tracks that I'll skip but the majority slaps. Can't front on some good hip-hop music

Fellow Torontonians/Canadians on this board gonna feel away but they'll get over it after February lol

I know you haven't been biased with your opinions but saying I don't see replay value in this doesn't mean I can't change my mind in the future. I can only speak to how I feel right now and how I project I'll feel going forward. If the music was objectively noteworthy I'd be saying different.

Because I've heard 3/4 of these songs from these same two niggas about a few dozen times over. It's not like they're doing something drastically new that will take getting used to. It's the same formula with terrible singing vocals, uninspired lyrics and juvenile perspectives. I knew what I felt about them then, when it was done better, so I can anticipate how I'll feel going forward.

Nothing stood out as great on first listen and I don't anticipate it getting there in the future. If it eventually does then so be it, but right now that's not what it is. I have no desire to put on any of these songs again except maybe Spiderman, Deeper, Small Town Fame and Nokia. And with that said... as a project it's equally not terrible as it is not great. I give it a 5.5 out of 10.

OK fair, but how you just put it doesn't speak to its "replay value"

It's like how so many people in hip-hop love to throw the word 'classic' around prematurely instead of letting time play its course and then see if it's classic down the road

LMAO

The three tracks I was talking about back then were peekaboo, gnx and hey now and guess what? Peekaboo and hey now are some of my go-to tracks off the album as of today. I still don't like the gnx track mainly because of the production, and that's okay but the entire album is still going strong for me. Nevertheless, who knows...come November it may be the same, even stronger, or it may not

I questioned the 'replay value' of Euphoria on the day of its' release, and boy I was fucking wrong. But I didn't say it didn't have replay value

Another example, I loved the shit out of Pusha's It's Almost Dry when it first dropped, but 3 years later, it ain't sounding the same to me

You are welcome to view the album how you want, it isn't what I was getting at. I just find it funny when the album just released two days ago, we are talking about 'replay value', that's all

Idk how we got here but as pertaining to your original comment: you know full well when you don’t fuck with a joint after the first time you heard it. All you needed was that one time. It becomes the song you skip when you revisit the album / mixtape.

Unless you’re saying everything here has replay value making it solid in your eyes correct???

Nobody has yet to the answer the question, what’s the difference between Hov at 39 and Drake at 39?
I don't see the parallel you're trying to draw to Drake talking about girls of age where they need to sneak out their mother's house.

I get what point he was trying to make. I'm questioning where in the verse he quoted was there a parallel.
I don't get what point he's trying to make. I'm pretty sure that verse is aimed at Beyonce since he says Bonnie to his Clyde ( amongst other things). As far as I know Drake isn't married. * scratches head*

I’m just speaking in general with the lack of evolution with both at the same age but if want a specific verse to compare. Go listen to Jay verse on “Young Girl” and rap genius that and guess who he was rapping about.

Hov' got a young girl
Hov got a young girl
Still not quite 21
So high strung, such a vibrant thing
I introduce myself, "Hi, Miss Thing"
You're 19?
No, you're lightning in a bottle I give you a ring tomorrow
The scene that follows
Screams of horror
Classic Stephen King novel
Mama don't think you should take someone
So advanced in romance, you should just wait
Papa don't preach, Hov don't bite
Hov been through it, I might mold your life
'Cause I'ma show you right
Proper etiquette, how to hold your knife
Keep it competitive with Oprah's ice
Be like Janet, take control of your life

@toheeb27 when comes to somebody we like, it always must be one side. And my bad, Hov was 36 rapping that.
