It's the cost of being the top dog for 10-12 years straight, that's why Drake catches so much flak.

Plus, people know he's is capable of making music that sounds like he put in the effort, whether it is with substance or not. Sticking with the same subject matter isn't the issue. Because plenty of artists been making the same ol' music from time, difference is some of them put in the time and effort from the music down to the marketing/roll out

The nigga and his team became lazy after More Life/Scorpion era

Damn... that means the shit was probably trending sub 100K for the week.

On the Budden podcast they were making it seem like if it lands sub 200K there was some type of fix in. When truth of the matter is even the good songs on the project don't have much replay value. But that PND style R&B has never had a far reach. No coincidence the only two songs people are talking about are lightyears outside of the album's theme (Gimme a Hug & Nokia).

Because I've heard 3/4 of these songs from these same two niggas about a few dozen times over. It's not like they're doing something drastically new that will take getting used to. It's the same formula with terrible singing vocals, uninspired lyrics and juvenile perspectives. I knew what I felt about them then, when it was done better, so I can anticipate how I'll feel going forward.

Nothing stood out as great on first listen and I don't anticipate it getting there in the future. If it eventually does then so be it, but right now that's not what it is. I have no desire to put on any of these songs again except maybe Spiderman, Deeper, Small Town Fame and Nokia. And with that said... as a project it's equally not terrible as it is not great. I give it a 5.5 out of 10.
