Dr. Umar’s School Ready to Open?

My thing is that this is a huge undertaking, and I'm pretty sure that Dr. Umar hasn't done it before. May also have not had the type of professional advice that would have been helpful to someone inexperienced in this field. Because of this, there are any number of ways that things could have gone wrong, and the project delayed. He also may have made mistakes along the way. But to just jump to the conclusion that he was a crook is to be uncharitable. Especially when he seems sincere with his pro-blacknesss.

None of those excuses really fly. He was on Lord Jamar's podcast years ago getting pissed at him, yelling about his resume, saying he has plenty of friends with experience in the field already helping him. Lord Jamar tried to link him with his FIL who had started and grew his own school. Umar basically said he doesn't care what his FIL has done and has no interest in speaking to him.

• Repeatedly been dishonest/lied about his progress on opening the school
• Refused to do a smaller opening to help some students with the money and resources he currently had available (even though it was an option)
• Hasn't taught a single student but has collected over $1,000,000 and had 12 years to do it

Now that I think about it, it looks like all people did was help him flip an investment property. Guy bought and renovated an entire school without putting any of his own money up. It'll eventually go under, and he'll sell a building with new plumbing and a new HVAC system. All profit.

Again im not a supporter that rides for him. I simply called out people talking out of both sides of their mouths in this thread.

The money is gone either way. Hoping he does the right thing with it and stands by what he says isn't hurting anyone.

I don't believe what he says no matter what, Im challenging what some of you guys are posting because some of those things being said are just assumptions and double talk based in your bias against him and its upsetting some of yall.

I never said he wasn't lying I've simply maintained I don't have any proof and I don't have any stake in it as a donor, and im pretty sure Ive said multiple times in this thread they should string him up if he is.



So I find it odd to invest energy in seeing him fail. I would rather him do all the things to help black children than not.

He has all summer to get students enrolled, if the school is really ready, as he says. If it ain't up and running by the start of the school year, I wanna hear his newest excuse.

Here's a post from March 2023 saying the school is starting Sep 3, 2024. Then in June 2026 he puts up a video showing no students, no staff, and an unfinished uninspected school.



Believe him if you want to. Don't believe him if you don't want to. But let's not act like the skepticism hasn't been earned.

He just told The Breakfast Club in March 2026 that the school renovations were done, and he just needs a certificate of Occupancy to open up (gotta pass inspection to get it), and that if he got it that day, he could open September 2027.

So how'd he give that same estimate in March 2023 saying he'd open in September 2024? He still had to do renovations that would take 3 years to complete. He was knowingly lying in 2023.
