There was never gonna be a killshot for Fox News. At best the money and a public on air apology was the best and all Dominion wanted. Fox News audience don't care if they're being lied to. That's already been proven and there's no shaming them into not watching Fox News. The only thing at this point that would take Fox News down is either for somebody internally to go rouge or someone buys the channel and changes their format. They still got another defamation case with Smartmatic and that will probably be settled too.
Well we still have the case of the former executive and her lawsuit with Fox
She was really the nail in the coffin for Fox, tho Dominion would have more likely still won something had this with all the way to trial without her
Dominion was gonna win in court. This settlement was about avoiding the public embarassment of having their top stars having to testify in open court. This lawsuit is already ammo for their rivals but if there was actual footage or court records that could be read or shown publicly of Tucker Carlson or somebody else having to admit in open court they lied then while their fan base wouldn't have cared advertisers would've. And that's where the money is made.
