It's been a huge discussion in my area. My county and counties nearby have put up flock cameras. They're supposed to be there to get license plates and if there are crimes in the area then it's supposed to help police but people feel it's a huge invasion of privacy and very Big Brother

There are lawsuits

You can find out if they're in your area

Yep.. pretty sure they are all over VA now. I’ve only noticed some a few times.. fun fact I wanna say that had something to do with than finding my truck to issue me a parking ticket for the city over the day after.

Been debating on making a thread about these things. Lotta folks over thisaway don't like 'em, myself included. The US is not a surveillance state, and this is pushing us closer to it.

These things have been used for stalking by cops a ridiculous number of times.

The bad out-ways the good IMO… easy and constant surveillance isn’t necessarily a good thing.. once you start invading privacy your no better then the other countries that do it and take advantage and handicap their civilians. Yeah it might help solve a murder here and there but I’m sure there’s several other incidents of invasion of privacy doesn’t offset it imo.

I get the sentiment.. and I dont like the shit either but I dont know if I would classify this as an invasion of privacy

It is. We should have the ability to go about our daily lives without the police monitoring our every movement without probable cause or a warrant.

I see it this way and honestly up until recently didn’t really put much opinion into it. It’s one thing for a business and/or property to have their own surveillance but once crossing that line allowing basically allowing to much surveillance from the traffic lights, random street camera etc I think the bad is gonna out-way the good.
