COMMUNITY Do You Talk To Your Neighbors?

My cousin moved down with me to try and start over. He talks to the neighbors. I am cordial, but keep it moving.

I’m so used to moving, next year this will be the longest I’ve stayed in a place since moving out of my mom’s at 18. But anyway, I’m so used to moving, I never really get attached or to buddy, buddy with folks.

Damn, it’s kinda crazy to think about this will be the longest I’ve stayed in a place. I might need to start looking at switching some shit up. 🤣

Buy a house and you'll stay lol. Bought my house in 2018...before that I moved apartments every couple years.

I'm actually thinking about renting a loft downtown in September to change it up.
 
We get along with all our neighbors. Since we all live in condos, we have an HOA to make sure everyone gets any services.

We invite each other to our functions (i.e. my boy invited us to his SB party, we invited them to our Black History party), and stuff like that.

I could never mess with or date a neighbor. Literally too close to home. If shit go wrong with yall, you have to live with that or move. If they crazy, they gonna bring hell to you everyday.

Before this thread, I have been watching these docs on HBO about horrible neighbors. Naw, im good on that.

I have a next door neighbor who is attractive but she lives next door, so I let it go. This was when i first moved in when she wasnt married

I understand your point, but it worked well for me in grad school. Pretty much every chick I messed with then lived in my neighborhood. I'm a drama free person and I don't mess with chicks that are on BS, so I've never really had to worry about things going South like that.

I typically don't talk to any of mine on my floor. Possibly a good morning or have a good night. Im very cool with a lady and her husband that live on the 6th floor. Always have a conversation when I see one or both of them.

I used to stop and chat with two old ladies that would come sit on their walkers at the lobby entrance but they died one after the other a little before or during covid. They were sisters.

Couldn't stand one chick that used to live down the hall. Always had the floor stinking of weed. She was a dog sitter and either selling weed or pussy on the side cause BARE MANS were coming in and out of there hotting up the place and those dogs were unpredictable af and nuff times there was piss in front of the elevator. Pretty sure she jammed me for a couple Amazon packages too. Got into it with her one time after she drunkenly knocked at my door clearly confused about where loud music was coming from and thought about poisoning one of her dogs but since she was a dog sitter as well as a dog owner that was too much of a Russian roulette kill mission for me and I have since calmed myself. She moved out but I think she sub leases cause I see her coming out the crib every once in a while.

Anyway. Whats going on with you and your neighbors?

Not really some of the ones that have been here for awhile but mostly everybody minds their business. My dad used to speak to everybody but mostly small talk.
 
One of my neighbors just moved out we thought they owned the house and their dad built it in like the 70s. Wife was a mean old lady but we thought they paid the house off but sold it after she died. And I think they kept that house terrible because the folks coming with Hazmat suits and looking sick
 
aight so...some neighborhood/HOA shenanigans

short version...two neighbors towards the entrance of the subdivision have been beefing.

House A has a teen that either is mad truant or he not really in school and just spends his time all day at the house. He has a podnuh and i guess his lil gf that are ALWAYS there at different times. The podnuh parks in the street blocking a fire hydrant, and the gf parks at the community mailbox. This house also let some nigga par his old ass truck there for weeks on flat and was changing his oil and that shit left a BIG ass oil stain in that area with no attempt to clean it up.

House B has an honorably discharged brotha that pretty much just walks his dog up and down the street several times a day, while smoking on his weed.

House B had a convo with House A's son about his speeding he does when he enters into the neighborhood from the main street. House A son gets spicy with him as a result. House B tried to talk to the Dad of House A and was still met with spice. House B has also talked to House A's sons friend about his speeding into the subdivision and street parking. Friend gets spicy with House B also.

House B and others complain to the HOA. HOA is pretty shitty and have been since they changed property management companies.

Apparently somebody done put up a sign after I checked the mail yesterday that basically says cars will be towed at owners expense. They were asking if it was approved by the board. It wasnt but most of the people on the email dont have any issue with it bc they have heard several neighbors that have complained about not being able to drive up to their box and get in and out.

THEN the altima further down the street still refuses to park in the driveway which is causing other traffic issues with incoming/outgoing traffic.

I cant wait to leave this shit. Summer can't come fast enough

update

just got a call from the HOA

apparently, all this time, the owner of the house that the board members had been complaining about was on the email thread LMAO

I'm not sure how that was even possible but whatever. So apparently, her and her husband concocted some story about why the cars had been parking there. Now we've only had like 3 HOA meetings over the past 4 years for reasons...but i went to them and this lady wasnt at a single one but yet, she claims she is a board member. Her husband felt like b/c the wife says she is a board member, they had the right to park the extra cars by the mailbox.

So the HOA people called me and asked me my thoughts. I gave her my two pennies then hit her with the Magic gif and told her I was moving this summer. Do what you gonna do
