Do Non African Americans Have the Right to Speak on Black Culture?

This is inspired from some a bullshit narrative I've seen on LSA lately...that non American born or 1st and 2nd generation blacks don't have a right to speak on the black experience because their culture and black Americans with families from here have a different experience.

This is also inspired by a few stories in the news...like Nicki saying that dumb shit about Harriet Tubman. People lit her up saying because she came from an immigrant family and reps a culture other than America (Trini), that she stepped out of line for speaking on a black American legend.

we had this argument on the other place.

people were saying barack dont know truly the plight of black american men because he was raised in hawaii and indonesia.

dumbest shit i heard.

thing is....what people dont know...they dont know.
they take hold of dumb shit with no basis.

black american culture is something to be proud of...and most people want to emulate it....but the problem comes when the negative shit becomes more important than the positive.
thats where we lose most of the blacks living around the world.

i see a very interesting dynamic living abroad.
alot of black people dont need to feel they need to prove they can still fight after a certain age. after a point its about preparing to live a happy life with a good career and possibly a family he can proved for.

they dont care about the block or what color you wearing or what you driving.

like i said...very interesting

To bring some balance...cuz I think we can all agree that black is black...but I think a lot of us can relate to certain Africans that look down on black Americans or think we're lazy and shit...which is just an immigrant mindset and unfortunately the reality is that damn near everybody looks down on blacks. So in that context, yes non American blacks shouldn't be saying shit about/to us. But that's a separate conversation.

OK how about African Americans who give up their ancestral slave names, begin to wear African clothing and partake in traditional African rituals and shit whilst living in the States?

Should they engage in Black Culture outside of the USA?

Anybody has the right to speak on whatever they feel like. The problem is when we black people give undeserved attention and credence to ignorant shit. That is IMO where we fuck up as a people.

Check the dumb shit said if need be but after that leave it alone no need to keep debating stupidity

swaggerless virgins who make threads all day whining and blaming women for everything and worships "pawgs"

Bunch of Tommy Sotomayor.

And they make irrational statements such as the one from LSA.
excuse my uncool phrase knowledge but what the hell is a pawg? and i hope it aint what i think it is.
